He is Past President of the 14,000 member American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is former General Counsel for the Oklahoma State Council for Human Resource Management. He has been listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers since 1996, is annually listed in Best Lawyers in America for Immigration Law and has been named one of the Top 50 Super Lawyers in Oklahoma. He has co-edited over 35 books, spoken at more than 100 national and international conferences and often serves in an advisory capacity on legislative efforts.

Matthew D. Stump maintains a focused practice on employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant business visa matters, I-9 and corporate compliance and federal mandamus litigation.

He has extensive experience representing scientists, researchers, engineers, physicians, professors, artists, musicians, athletes, and entrepreneurs as well as counseling corporations, universities, and government agencies on obtaining visas and green cards for foreign national employees including extraordinary ability, outstanding researcher, multinational manager, and national interest waiver categories.

Matthew places special emphasis on counseling clients through the US Department of Labor’s arduous Alien Labor Certification (PERM) process.

Matthew is recognized by Who’s Who Legal Corporate Immigration as a “Thought Leader” and “an “Employment Guru.’ He is “praised as a rising star in the practice area and someone who is already making his mark with federal government agencies.
